Do we accept insurance?
Child Neuropsychology of Houston does not accept insurance payments for testing.
We will, however, provide documents for you to file with your insurance carrier.
Parents should not expect any reimbursement for the cost of the evaluation. To
schedule an appointment for testing, a deposit of $300 will be collected. This deposit
will be applied to the final cost of the evaluation. The deposit is non-refundable.

Who will be with my child?
All testing is conducted by either Dr. Prasad or Dr. Kerne.

Is testing conducted in one day?

Our goal is to complete testing on one day. However, in some cases, testing must be
completed over two days.

How long does testing take?
The length of testing varies by the age of the child and the needs of the child. Young
children, such as those under the age of 7 years, can complete testing within several
hours. For older children, testing can last through the early afternoon.

Does the parent need to stay during the testing session?
For children under the age of 9 years, we ask that parents remain in the waiting room.
Young children often need breaks and checking in with their parents during breaks
provides reassurance.

Are children allowed to have water and snacks?

We ask that parents pack a water bottle, snacks, and lunch for the children.

Can my child have their phone with them?

Children are allowed to keep their phones with them so that they can contact their
parents if needed. The children will not be allowed to use their phones for other
purposes such as to play games unless on a lunch break.

Should my child take their medication for the testing session?

If your child has been diagnosed with a disorder such as ADHD for which they take
medication, they should take that medication the day of testing.
